At God's direction, the prophet Samuel selects an outcast teenager as the new king. The series shows Saul losing power over his kingdom as David finds himself on a journey to discover and fulfill his destiny. An imperfect yet earnest David navigates love, loss, and violence in the court of the very man he’s destined to replace.
