Yolanda Adams on the Super Bowl Soulful Red Carpet

"I'm not a Christian one day and then somebody another day." Yolanda Adams was radiant at the 26th Annual Super Bowl Soulful Celebration as she discussed how she maintains her faith while balancing mainstream success.

She shared words of wisdom on the red carpet before taking the stage to perform. During the interview, former Washington Redskins Cornerback, Darrell Green, interrupted her to say hello. He referred to the gospel artist as his "homegirl" and she responded warmly. Green and Adams are both from Houston Texas and are considered legends in their respective fields.

Yolanda Adams is one of few Gospel artists in history who has been able to crossover into mainstream entertainment while proclaiming the Christian faith.

She explains this has been possible because she hasn't lost sight of what's truly important. "Once you realize your power is in your faith, you don't worry about all that other stuff." Adams states that the first thing she does when she wakes up is give thanks to God because if she forgets Him--she's messed up.
